About Hugh
Hugh Kline is a jazz musician and educator from Seattle, WA who currently lives in Bethlehem, PA. Hugh teaches jazz drums on faculty at Moravian University and Lafayette College, as well as running his own private studio.
A go-to drummer for the Lehigh Valley, Hugh has had the opportunity to play extensively with visionary bassist Gene Perla, as well as frequently appearing alongside top-notch musicians in the area including Tony Marino, Nancy Reed, Mitch Stein, Skip Wilkins, Dan Wilkins, Paul Rostock, Adam Brenner, and many others. He is a longstanding member of the Griffin Woodard Group, and is featured on the albums Completion, Precious One, and Live at the Deer Head Inn. He also appears on Dan Wilkins' latest release: Oceans Beyond the Sky.
Hugh studied with the legendary Billy Hart as at Oberlin Conservatory, and received his master’s in music from McGill University, where he studied with renowned drummer and composer John Hollenbeck.
